Colleges in Kent and Medway offer a wide variety of courses to prepare people for paid employment in vocational areas that interest them. Many of these courses will be "mainstream" with the necessary adaptations made or support provided for people with additional needs.

Other courses will be specifically designed for people whose support needs require that learning takes place at a level and pace that suits them best.

Many courses are funded by the YPLA and some by the Skills Funding Agency. For some courses, especially those aimed at aged over 19 there might be a cost implication. Courses may be full-time or part-time. The information we have provided below will, hoepfully, steer you in the right direction to find the right course for the person you are supporting, if you both feel that the college route is the right one to take at this point.
